FAVORITISM AND RESPECT

There are two things that you always need to avoid and needs to carry all the time. Even if your a simple person, a leader, or influential.

In an organization there is always someone to lead. You have members to handle. If you are the leader, people cannot blame you if appreciate someone better than the other, however, when it turns too much then "FAVORITISM" comes to play.

What is Favoritism?
Favoritism is a display of partiality toward a favored person or group.

How can you tell if your showing favoritism.
- You spend much time with the favored person
- You praises the favored person for smaller accomplishments that others don't get praised for
- You lets errors slide when they are made by his/her favorite person
- You give additional help and coaching during completion of assignments that others don't get
- You socializes more with favored person than others
- You talk with emotions with the favored one when you talk casual to others
- You give more resources and advises to the favored one.

If you see yourself in any of those reasons then, you are playing favoritism. Favoritism that demotivates other employees to work with you, with the department and even with the company. It can caused chain reactions to other people. You may not be aware or you can deny but it is something that you need to take actions.

Respect
Respect has different types and different meaning. But I would like to say its
a feeling or understanding that someone or something is important or serious and should be treated in an appropriate way. It is an act of treating people with consideration and esteem; giving importance to other peoples’ feelings; listen to people and hearing them and more importantly, respect means treating one with dignity.

Respect is the opposite of humiliation and contempt. It is the first thing that we need in order to build a good relationship with others. We are not being ask to like or understand each point of view but respect comes when accepting the differences, we still honor them.

Favoritism and Respect is very common problem to a workplace, organization or group of people. You may analyze the below example and see how you apply the topic to it.

In a workplace, the boss was well know for his good work. Working in a company for half a decade , doing a lot of things but same thing everyday makes you know all the process. The boss gave a newly joined person an assignment with instructions on it. Before end of the day the assignment was returned to boss desk with a tag "complete". When the boss checked it, he saw something was not made correctly and something is missing. The boss was not impressed and from then on, other work of that person was never appreciated. He talk in sarcastic and unpleasant way. It is not a secret to everyone that boss showed favoritism to other colleague. He passed over the assignment to the favored one, without even talking to the other person, not even given a chance to correct his work or improve himself.

How to show respect?
1. Do unto others as you would others do unto you. Treat others like the way you wanted to be treated.
2. Learn to listen. Let people explain. Never assumed. Never Judge. Treat them fairly.
3. Do not insult in whatever way, instead try to understand them.

I hope you guys find the post useful. I just want to remind or educate someone about this.

Don't you worry, I got your back girl. They are just plainly pathetic, egoistic people who step on other people just to achieve their goals in life and that is unreasonably inconsiderate of them. They might have reached the goals that they wanted to attain now, but if you cheated or used someone to get there, it is an assurance that you will lose it eventually.
Well as long as you don't step on anyone and your conscience is clear you have a brighter future because you know what you want and you know how to be fair in life. Stay beautiful Greicia! :)

Thanks Rein. There are people that was really born a poser in front of all and there are people that let their work and positions go up straight to their heads, makes it airy and big and too much to handle causing more unpleasant behaviors. Thanks for understanding and listening.

Pwede ba maglink ng 5/15 dito? haha. Sabi ko naman sayo yaan mo na lang yung iba jan. Wala ka mapapala kung iisipin mo lang sila. Just do you task perfectly and don't mind them. Galingan mo sa client mo ah!!
